Dear Minister,
On 20th January 2010, I and over 600 other individuals, wrote to your office requesting information regarding your department's fisheries management policies (please refer to the email trail below for verification).
I have a strong interest in understanding these policies and am looking forward to receiving them. I was led to believe that , according to page 3 of the DEWHA Service Charter 2009-2012, that the department will:
"reply to correspondence within 20 working days of receipt or, if we cannot answer within that time, send you an acknowledgement and let you know when you can expect a reply, and respond promptly to requests for publications, reference material, fact sheets or other printed information."

I was hoping someone in your office would be able to let me know how my request is progressing and when the documentation will be sent to me? I do wish to fully understand the fisheries issues within Australia and this will provide me with fundamental background information.
Sincerely,
[INSERT YOUR NAME]

I am interested in finding out which policies are used by the Federal government to manage Australia's marine environment and associated resources.
Please can you post me copies of the relevant documents that explain and outline these policies, including any documentation outlining future policy directions.
This information will allow me to understand the policy process and become involved to ensure that my views are understood and considered by the Federal government when developing policies to manage our marine environment now and in the future.
As one of a great number of active recreational anglers, I am particularly interested in ensuring that government promote sustainable recreational fishing policies for both current and future generations.
